For Thanksgiving I went out for a few days to help my sister with her new baby boy. She now has three boys under the age of 3. WOW! It was crazy but fun. Here's a couple pics from the trip.

One of my best friends, Kimber, just recently went on a mission to Brazil!

I miss seeing her every morning at work!

New Car!

We got a new car! It's from this little dealership up in Bountiful who sells mostly Honda's (Rands Auto). We love it! Our old car, the VW Passat, finally broke down two weeks ago and cost more money to fix than it's really worth. We've been searching for two weeks. It's a huge relief to find one we like!

Hugs

Kay so I have a question:

Is it still ok for a married woman to give hugs to everyone? Cause I give hugs to everyone I know. If we've hung out at least once and I run into you, I will probably give you a hug. Is that weird? Do people not want these hugs? Davin said that the last two people I gave a hug to acted really awkward.
I personally think hugs are way better and less awkward then hand shakes. If you are going to give me a handshake, I would prefer a hug! I've ALWAYS just given everyone hugs! (I have been trying to not hug people recently, and I feel so bad when I don't give people hugs!)
So do most people not feel the way I do? So now that I'm an 'old married woman' does that mean I should not just give hugs out to everyone I run into or say bye to? Should I only hug family and my bestest girl friends? I've never really thought about it before, and now that Davin pointed out, I'm all confused. When should I give hugs???????

i made it!

K so i did it! I did not buy one single piece of clothing or 'want' the whole month of September! It was so hard but I'm really glad I did it! I have found that I'm more of an impulsive shopper than I thought. I saw so many things I liked last month and then after a few weeks, I decided I didn't really need them or like them anymore. So, I think I'm going to use this thinking in the future. If I really like something, I'm going to wait for it. And if I still like it later (not sure how long a good waiting period is. any ideas?) and if it's still there, I'll get it! I feel good about this plan...

I think we're going to keep doing the ramen noodle thing! We saved A TON :) Like two hundred bucks! crazyness..... AAAANNNNDDDD we ate at Goodwood (aka the BEST RESTAURANT EVER!) like 7 times the whole month! (yes i know, we spend too much on food...but we ARE doing better!)

September

SO this month we are trying something new...
I have decided to buy NO clothes this month along with any other 'want.' I don't think I've ever done this before. Shopping is addiction to me! I absolutely love getting new new things. It has been really hard so far. But I made a promise to myself and I'm going to keep it!
Also, we've decided to cut way down in our food budget. I know this sounds lame, but we go out to eat WAY TOO MUCH. so we are eating ramen noodles and grilled cheese sandwiches! we'll see if it really makes a difference next month. i'll keep ya posted.

Besides that, I just started school full time and it's a lot harder than I thought it would be. The religious classes at BYU are so hard and demanding. And it is always the classes you take for 'fun' or think are going to be easy, are the classes that are the hardest! I cut down my hours at work but it's still pretty demanding to get all my homework done. I've got at least one paper due every week this semester or more. Not fun...

It is getting really cold here in Utah. Summer is definitly gone and not coming back. I am dreading the snow and ice that'll be coming soon. I do have to admit though that Utah has really started to grow on me. When and if we ever do leave this place, I think part of me will miss it. The summers and falls we have here are so pretty...

Utah Drivers...

Well it only took Davin, what?, two weeks before his first wreck? Thank goodness he had no broken bones! Some idiot Utard driver ran a stop sign, then stopped in the middle of the intersection, and then decided to go forward again. Davin had slowed down but the bike was still going towards the guy. So Davin laid the bike down and slid off. Since we have no insurance right now and he didn't think about needing an ambulance, Davin didn't call the cops and they just exchanged information. He only saw a gash on his right hand and went home to wash it off. He called me to come drop off the car so he could get to work. When I came home we found out that his knee and left forearm had some pretty bad road rash as well. We tried washing it (Davin was in a lot of pain) but the dirt and small rocks were not coming out. So we took him to urgent care. They took care of him and washed them up pretty good. I know I should have felt really bad for him, but I couldn't help smiling! I didn't want to say "i told you so" but smiling was good enough. So for the past few days he's been in a lot of pain. Road rash apparently hurts really bad. So, my advice to people getting bikes: get insurance, get a helmet, wear long sleeves and pants, and watch out for stupid drivers-especially in Utah!

well, we finally broke down and got Davin a bullet bike a week ago. It saves a ton on gas! (yes, that was the big selling point for me.) And it makes Davin really happy and therefore makes me happy :) i love my hott biker man!!! haha
