First Bath
Since he was born, I've just been washing him in the shower with me. It's a lot easier and he has never cried. I don't like it when he cries... So this past week we tried him in the bath tub for the first time and he really liked it. :)
I just want to eat him up when he looks at me like this! He loves to suck on his fingers...
Halloween
Well, here's some pics from Halloween. Yes, I know they are late... but better late then never right? I thought he made a pretty cute tigger :)

Smiles
Now at around 6 weeks, Hunter loves to smile! Every time I lay him down on his changing table to change his diaper, this is what I see :) I LOVE IT!
The Birth
So we showed up to the Orem hospital at 6 AM on August 6th. After filling out paper work, they started me on pitocin.
They checked me at 8 AM (which HURTS by the way! just so you know... becuase no one told me that and it was suprising!) and then they broke my water (very weird sensation by the way. it didn't hurt though. it was just weird...) I was doing good till about 9 AM. The contractions got so bad that my whole body was shaking and I thought I was going to die.
So they guy came in at 9:30 AM and gave me an epidural... They had me sit up and lean over a pillow to do it. Davin was right infront of me holding my hands so I had something to hold on to when the contractions came. They hurt so bad! The guy did a local shot of some numbing stuff and that hurt a little bit. Enough for me to say "ouch." Davin braced himself for the big needle but I didn't even feel it! The next thing I knew he was taping the cord up my back and I asked him when he was going to do the big shot and he said he already did it! haha It was WONDERFUL! After about three more contractions, I couldn't feel a thing! All I have to say is:
God Bless Epidurals!!! :) haha I have NO idea WHAT the heck I was thinking before. We live in a day and age where we are BLESSED with advanced medicine. We should use it! My advice to everyone... GET THE EPIDURAL!! LOL The whole thing was a breeze after that!
So at about noonish the nurse said I was fully dialated and they were going to let me "rest and drop" for an hour. This means I get to lay there and rest for a bit while the baby drops deeper into the birth canal so I don't have to push so much when the time comes. I got an extra dose of the epidural at 1 PM (very smart choice. it made labor so nice!) then I threw up because of all the medicine, but it didn't last long. I shouldn't have had Sonic for breakfast that morning LOL.
The Doctor took a little big longer getting there (he was coming from surgery at another hospital) and didn't show up until 2 PM. Then they had to move my whole room around so I was where the other bed was because it was infront of the huge lights the Dr needs to stich you up. So I didn't really feel much after this. I think he did an epesiotomy, but I didn't feel or see him do it, and then he got his forcepts out. The baby was facing sideways and he had to use them to wiggle him out. I didn't even have to push! I have no recolection of the placenta coming out either. The next thing I know they laid him in my arms. He was beautiful. That is definitly the Best feeling in the world. It is a little surreal. I totally cried. That's why my eyes are watery...
Davin LOVES this little guy :)

INDUCED!
So here's the story...
Last night I had contractions from 10 pm to 4 am. They were all about 5 minutes apart. I drank a ton of water and soaked in the tub to help calm them down if they were braxton-hix ones. It didn't help and they kept coming. So we packed everything and I took a shower. I called the hospital and they said not to come in until the contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and when I couldn't physically talk during my contractions. They NEVER got to that point and I ended up falling asleep around 4:30 am when the contractions slowed down.
The next morning I woke up and was so depressed. I'll admit I cried. It sucks waking up, expecting to have the baby the night before, and not have him. I had a Dr. appointment today and she checked me for the first time... and apparently it hurts! No one told me! It feels like someone is pinching you super hard. NOT FUN. But the good news was that I am 4 cm dialated! yay! She could see I was misserable from the night before and then asked when I was 39 weeks (tomorrow) and what insurance I had. Then said she'd was going to check something and would be right back. Then I heard her on the phone with the hospital giving them my information. Words cannot describe how happy I was! She came back in and told me she had scheduled an induction for tomorrow morning at 6 am. I gave her a huge hug and almost burst into tears. (Apparently all these hormones makes you cry a lot...)
I called Davin to tell him the good news. Apparently he wasn't expecting in and freaked out a little bit. haha. He came home early from work cause he couldn't concentrate. He's still freaking out. I think it's the fact that the actual birth day was always far away and "some day in the future sometime." Now that it's finally here it is really hitting him. I have a feeling I'll be the one calming him down in the labor room. LOL.
I still want to try and not do an epidural but from what I've heard it's almost impossible. When they induce you, it sends you into really intense and strong labor. It is usually more intense then normal labor. So I guess we will see. Davin thinks I'll cave in and get one. But I am pretty dang determined and I got to 4cm on my own...
So we are just waiting till tomorrow morning! I'll try to post some pics tomorrow or the next day depending on when we meet him and how everthing goes!

37 weeks
I am SOO ready not to be pregnant anymore!!!
When you reach this point in pregnancy, no position is really that comfortable. And if you find a position that is somewhat comfortable, it is for a few minutes, and then things start turning numb. LOL... I used to think laying on my side sucked (I am a stomach sleeper) and now my whole side will go numb after 10 minutes and I have to switch. So I end up tossing and turning all night long. It's lots of fun...
I finally feel ready for Hunter to get here though. All the clothes are washed, folded, and put away. The car seat is in the car. My hospital bag is actually packed (I figured I can't get away with last minute packing on this one.) I sewed some blankets and burp cloths. We have wipes and newborn diapers. And we finally got the crib put together :) I am still working on sewing the bumper pads, but I don't think Hunter will notice if they aren't done by the time he gets here. LOL...
I am so excited to be a mom! This whole experience was a little hard to comprehend and get used to the first several months we found out. It wasn't something we were expecting. But now, I really feel so blessed that we have this opportunity to be parents. Hopefully we don't screw him up too bad. LOL. During this day and age, it is really hard for many couples to have kids and I don't want to take it for granted. It will be the hardest thing in our lives but hopefully the most rewarding, or so I've heard :) I'll be sure to post some cute baby pics when he pops out! Hopefully it'll be soon and hopefully he'll be cute LOL...

the little things...
I constantly have heart burn. Every time I try to lay down, it starts coming up my throat. I've propped my pillow up under several pillows and I have Tums every night before I go to bed, but sometimes it doesn't even help. And sometimes it happens even when I'm sitting!...
Hunter is constantly kicking! I feel his little nudges (or BIG nudges) all day long. He gets the hiccups at least twice a day, if not more. It is REALLY REALLY REALLY annoying because it is usually when I'm trying to sleep!
Any kind of salad makes me sick after wards. However, I crave fruit all the time! Apples, peaches, nectarines, strawberries, cantelope, etc... it all sounds so good! I also crave potatoes and meat. A good home cooked meal always sounds good to me... and I LOVE milk! I have to get the lactose-free kind, but it is wayyy better than rice/soy milk and it's been so nice being able to drink it! yummm...
After religiously putting on shea-butter cream and vitamin E oil everyday this whole pregnancy, I still got stretch marks. They showed up last Sunday. I was really depressed the whole day and didn't get out of bed. How the heck did that happen! That was one thing I tried really hard to prevent. It really makes me mad. I guess it doesn't matter what you do, it all depends on genetics. Stupid genetics... any good remedies to make them go away?
I have found out that pools are amazing. We got 7Peaks season passes. I love to go and just sit in the shallow end of the wave pool. The sunshine is so nice and being in the water makes me feel so weightless! It is definitly one good perk of having a summer baby... maybe the only one LOL...
I love air conditioning! I don't know what I'd do without it!... I still get bad hot flashes a few times a day. My skin feels like its on fire, I feel light headed, and I feel like I'm going to throw up. The only thing that helps is laying down in my air conditioned apartment. so nice!...
SO besides hot flashes, stretch marks, baby hiccups, and heartburn, this pregnancy is going great! haha
32 weeks...
Everything has been gong good. All the Dr appointments have been fine. I don't think I have anymore ultrasounds though...
We finally god our cute stroller/car seat/carrier set from Target! It's light green with multi-color polka dots. I absolutely love it!
I have been so busy with my BYU spring class that it's been a little hard finding the time to get everything together. But, my final is this Wednesday, and then I'll have a ton of time to do stuff! Like sew the bedding, finish reupholstering the glider, pack for the hospital, wash all the baby clothes, put the crib together, etc...

Prego
Here's a pic of my pregnant lady belly. I'm 24 weeks in it. My stomach is getting really tight and he is definitely cramped in there. At least I'm not feeling sick all the time though. I can't wait for him to get here! Some days I'm so excited and ready to be a mom. And then there's days where I get a little freaked out and I feel so unprepared. I'm sure it'll come with time... Baby clothes shopping is definitely the best part of this whole thing! The little clothes are so dang cute. It has also been fun picking out things to put the nursery together. Black and off-white "demask" pattern is the main theme. It'll be so cute. I'll post pictures when it is all put together.

IT'S A BOY

So he's pretty much a boy :)
We are SO EXCITED!!! We both always wanted a boy first. A big older protective brother for the rest of the kids so we don't have to be. LOL. For now, we've decided on Davin Hunter Ryan. We'll call him Hunter though. (If you steal it, I'll kill you!)
The second we found out Davin started texting all of his friends. It was cute. I was just so happy to finally find out what we were having so I can start planning things.

Baby Ryan
So here's some pictures of our little surprise!I found out on the night of December 14. After I was done freaking out a little I put the pregnancy test on Davin's desk in his office for him to see when he got back from work the next morning. When he got home, of course I was instantly awake and listening. I heard him sit down in his office and then turn the light on. After realizing what it was he came in to see me and asked "are you serious?" I responded with "I think so... it has two lines?" haha and then we got very excited, scared, happy, and overwhelmed all at once...
We decided to go to the Doctor to make sure the test was right and apparently all pregnancy tests are 99.9% accurate and the doctors think you are crazy for wanting a confirmation... But I told them to do it anyways because we needed to hear it from a doctor! It just makes it more official and more believable. ya know?... I really haven't been too sick. I only threw up one night because of food poisoning from a restaurant. I'm really glad I haven't thrown up any more than that because I don't think I could handle it! I hate throwing up with a passion and it NEVER makes me feel better... I have felt dizzy A LOT. It is hard to stand up for long periods of time and I have completely blacked out a few times. But other than that, I'm doing good!...
So now I am at 14 weeks and in my second trimester! We don't have a preference for a boy or girl... we just want a normal healthy baby. (we'll find out at 20 weeks... so like mid March) and The due date is August 13th!
